Air-Supported Belt Conveying System

DemcoTECH AeroConveyor™

The AeroConveyor™ is a proven solution for conveying dusty, low bulk density, and hard-to-handle materials—especially in challenging environments. Originally introduced in 1980, it has since evolved through continuous innovation to suit diverse applications and varying climatic, environmental, and topographical conditions.

The Air Cushion Principle

A centrifugal fan supplies air into a plenum chamber, which is released through strategically placed holes along the trough. This creates a continuous air film that lifts the conveyor belt off the steel trough, allowing the material to ride smoothly with minimal friction and wear.
When idle, the fully loaded belt is supported by the steel trough. Once the fan stabilizes pressure, the drive motor activates and material conveying begins—offering a smooth, controlled flow.

How It Works

Functionally similar to a conventional conveyor, the AeroConveyor™ uses a continuous belt loop around head and tail pulleys. However, instead of idler rollers, it uses a structural steel trough to support the belt. This trough, paired with air cushion technology, eliminates idler resistance, resulting in reduced maintenance and energy consumption.
